UFC 251: Usman vs. Odds Masvidal, predictions: the inside of MMA inserts surprising choices of combat cards

Jorge Masvidal has been waiting for this opportunity since he joined the UFC seven years ago. Unfortunately, it took someone else’s misfortune to receive it. In the wake of Gilbert Burns’ positive COVID-19 test, Masvidal finally got his title shot and was selected as a substitute to challenge Kamaru Usman for the welterweight championship in Saturday’s UFC 251 main event. UFC Fight Island’s main UFC 251 combat card in the United Arab Emirates is expected to start at 22:00. ET. Masvidal has recorded a 12-6 record in the UFC, with half of his wins coming to knockout, including his last three fights.

Two offers were reportedly made to Masvidal to face Usman at UFC 251

before UFC president Dana White brought Burns, but he refused both, believing that the payment was insufficient. Usman is a favorite of -260 at William Hill (he risks $ 260 to win $ 100) after opening at -300, while Masvidal is a +210 loser (risk $ 100 to win $ 210). In the co-main event, featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski is a favorite of -220 (he risks $ 220 to win $ 100) against challenger Max Holloway (+180). Before blocking your UFC 251 picks, make sure to see UMA predictions from MMA SportsLine analyst Kyle Marley.

The well-known MMA analyst has been on fire, as he hit 12 consecutive main event winners. Last week, he told SportsLine members to expect Dustin Poirier (-200) to publish a win over Dan Hooker (+175) in their UFC Fight Night main event. Marley said Poirier would have won at least a 48-47 decision if the fight had gone to score. That’s exactly what happened, given that two judges got that exact score while the third gave Poirier a 48-46 lead en route to a unanimous decision.

Marley also called a decisive win two weeks ago for Curtis Blaydes (-400) against Alexander Volkov (+320) in their heavyweight main event. Anyone who has consistently followed Marley’s UFC choices is very high.

Now, with UFC 251 approaching, Marley has carefully studied every matchup on the card, identified the best value in UFC 251 odds and released his choices for each fight. Those choices of UFC 251 are only available here.

Preview Usman vs. Masvidal

Usman enters this matchup with a 15 fight streak after successfully defending his title with a knockout victory over Colby Covington at UFC 245 on December 14th. With that win, the 33-year-old Nigerian improved his UFC record to 11 -0 and his overall career mark 16-1.

The victory over Covington marked the first time in five fights and the second in 10 that Usman didn’t have to go far to raise his hand. A former NCAA Division II national wrestling champion at £ 174, averages 16 minutes, 40 seconds per fight, which is second in the history of UFC welterweight and seventh overall in the promotion’s existence.

Reportedly, the third-ranked Masvidal (35-13) was offered a pull on Usman’s belt when the UFC 251 card was put together but was not satisfied with the proposed payment and refused. The 35-year-old, who was a former Absolute Fighting Championships welterweight title holder, posted a TKO victory over Nate Diaz at UFC 244 last November, four months after finishing Ben Askren with a flying knee five seconds after his fight at the ‘UFC 239 for the fastest knockout in UFC history. The best UFC 251 forecasts for July 11th

We will share one of Marley’s predictions of UFC 251 here: he is supporting Elizeu Dos Santos (+105) to get a shocked victory over Muslim Salikhov (-125) in a welterweight match.

Dos Santos (22-6) ended his streak in seven fights from Li Jingliang last August, but rebounded to defeat Aleksei Kunchenko by unanimous decision on March 14th. The 33-year-old Brazilian, who has also won his first seven professional fights, is a former Jungle Fight welterweight champion who has recorded 14 of his 22 career knockout victories.

36-year-old Salikhov (16-2) also specializes in KOs, as 12 of his wins have been recorded that way. A former kickboxing champion who is one of only two non-Chinese fighters ever to win the Wushu Sanda King’s Cup, the Russian won three in a row after his 11-fight winning streak was taken by Alex Garcia in his UFC debut at November 2017.

“Dos Santos is the most active striker and is also most dangerous on the field,” Marley told SportsLine.

How to choose UFC 251

Marley also has strong choices for Usman vs Masvidal and every other match on UFC 251 card. He is also supporting a fighter who is “the most powerful guy”. You can only see those UFC 251 choices on SportsLine.
