Wes Anderson has no problem completing an impressive assembly of A-list talents every time he gets behind the camera to direct a new film. Most of them are recurring stars of his previous collaborations, but with each film, he brings with him some fresh blood that has never worked with the director. And another new contributor has been added to the cast.
Henry Winkler is enjoying a career revival thanks to his role in the HBO comedy series Barry including a recent Emmy victory (though unfortunately not a Golden Globe victory), and now he joined The French Dispatch the next film by Wes Anderson that is said to be set in the Paris office of an American newspaper.
The Hollywood Reporter has a word about Henry Winkler joining The cast of French Dispatch although details about his character have not been revealed at this time. He is one of the few cast members of the film who has never worked with Wes Anderson. Other cast members who have never acted in one of Anderson's films include Call Me By Your Name star Timothée Chalamet and Sicario star Benicio del Taurus .
Otherwise, the rest of the cast is full of Wes Anderson collaborators like Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody, Jeffrey Wright, Saoirse Ronan, Bob Balaban and, of course, Bill Murray . Other cast members include Lois Smith, Steve Park and French actors Léa Seydoux Mathieu Amalric and Denis Ménochet . And those are just the cast members we know so far. There may still be stars that have yet to be revealed.
Beyond the cast and basic settings of the film, the details are pretty poor, so we're not quite sure what to expect. One thing we know is that this film is not a musical as originally said. It is said that also French Dispatch has three different stories next to each other, and that the film has also been called a letter of love to journalists. This allows the potential of some exciting team-ups between this incredible cast. Personally, I would not mind seeing Henry Winkler paired with Bill Murray, but seeing him work with one of these stars has exciting potential.
The French Dispatch has not yet an official release date, but it should reach the cinemas before the end of 201
