The statements by actors Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Karishma Prakash were taped, said Mutha Ashok Jain, DDG, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Saturday. He said no one has been called up for now.
Deepika reportedly broke three times during her NCB interrogation on Saturday. The actor, along with fellow actors Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor, were questioned by NCB in connection with alleged drug use in Bollywood.
Deepika, who was in Goa for the filming of her next film with Shakun Batra, flew to Mumbai after being summoned by NCB. The actor was the first of three actors to reach NCB’s Colaba office. He reached around 9:45 am and reportedly left the post at 3:30 pm.
According to an India Today report, actor Bajirao Mastani broke three times during interrogation. NCB officials asked her not to play the “emotional card”
Sara and Shraddha also denied consuming drugs during their interrogation session with NCB officials. The statements of the three actors were recorded in the drug investigation linked to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput and an alleged Bollywood-drug link.
NCB also arrested producer Kshitij Ravi Prasad in the drug case linked to Sushant’s death on Saturday. On Friday morning he was picked up by an NCB team from his residence on the outskirts of Versova and interrogated around the clock at the Ballard Estate office. The agency has so far arrested at least 18 people in these cases.
While Sara and Shraddha were questioned at BCN’s zonal office in Ballard Estate, Deepika was questioned at a guest house in Colaba, a central agency official said. Shraddha reached the NCB office around 12 noon and left after six hours, while Sara arrived around 1pm and left around 5.30pm.
